Frequently asked questions
Where will my donation go?
Your donation goes toward the things that keep a library open: books in the several languages that the library's children speak, materials for a workshop, a librarian's time, the small costs of running a space week after week. We keep overheads as lean as we can, because the closer your donation gets to a child sitting down with a book, the more it is doing what it's meant to do.
Is my donation secure?
Yes. We process online donations through Donorbox (2.95% fee) and GlobalGiving (8% fee), both established, secure platforms used by nonprofits worldwide. If you don't wish to use a donating platform but still would like to support our work, we recommend making a direct bank transfer (details above).
Can I make a tax-deductible donation?
In most cases, yes, though it depends on your country and how you donate. If you need documentation for tax purposes, reach out to us directly and we'll sort it out with you. You can email us at: finance@lilipadlibrary.org.
Can I donate as an organisation or foundation?
Yes, and we'd love to talk. We already partner with organisations that choose to fund a specific library, a workshop series, or a location close to their own mission. If that's you, please write us at info@lilipadlibrary.org and we can figure out what fits.
Can I stop or change my monthly donation?
Any time, no questions asked. You're in full control through the donation platform, whether that means pausing for a month, adjusting the amount, or stopping altogether.
